A letter to the Occupy Wall Street Protester

Dear protester,

-

I see your words

Your reason

your duty to stand for your rights

I see you explaining

belonging to the 99%

I see you pointing

to the buildings arround you

“It’s their fault

everything is their fault”

I understand your reasoning

-

But you see,

Nobody is perfect

There’s nobody

who has the intention

to make you lose your job

all your money

and your home

but only

in some circumstances

there are shareholders

there are business man

there are lobbyists,

politicians

and bankers

busy all day

running little parts

of ourĀ global economy

where profit

is sometimes better

then people

excluding themselves

and their friends

and family.

-

just sometimes

those somebodies

you call the 1%

need to keep

their relatives

happy,

and yes

it happens

that they do it

by indirectly ruining

our families

and maybe even

our planet,

our friends,…

-

because they believe

you can survive

in this system

they will say:

“free markets work”

-

and yet

sometimes it does

sometimes it doesn’t.

-

They will continue

working, doing their job

whatever what it takes

because

that’s what they

think is good

for you

for them

and for this planet

-

But please understand

nobody is good

nobody wants to be bad

nobody is perfect

-

you need to find a solution

that works

talk with them

understand their reasoning

so they understand yours

open up the conversation

-

You all have people you love

and you’ll fight for

wether you’re a banker

or wether you have

good reason to be angry

-

There’s is no such thing

as being in control

of this planet

-

There’s influence

and understanding

-

Please wear a suit today

walk into their meeting room

and convince them

change is needed

and they will agree much more

when you

speak their language

and don’t offend anyone

-

Keep your honor,

while they may have

already lost theirs.

-

-

All the best,

-

J.

-

PS: Change will come.
